Who is Dermaplaning for?
Dermaplaning can be used on all skin types except those with active or deep cystic acne. It’s recommended that any breakouts clear before undergoing this treatment. While it may sound quite harsh, dermaplaning is actually very gentle. It could also be compared to shaving your legs only in this case, someone is very gently scraping the face.

We begin by double cleansing the skin with an antibacterial cleanser then with Genosys snow cleanser which is a fine and powerful oxygen foam cleanser. We then blot the skin dry. We ‘scrape’ the scalpel across the very top layer of the upper dermis removing fine vellus hair and dead skin. This may sound dramatic, but most clients find this very relaxing and it isn’t unusual to fall asleep during the treatment. Once we have completed the removal, we will apply a protective serum and an SPF cream.
As we age our skin cell turnover decreases creating a build up of dull looking skin, this treatment improves this by:

Dermaplaning is an excellent treatment for anyone with dry skin, fine lines, pigmentation and acne scarring. It is particularly beneficial for ageing skin to assist with cell turnover. Unfortunately we are unable to treat anyone with active acne or other skin conditions which could be exacerbated.
Absolutely not. Vellous hair is different from the hair on your head and eyebrows. Dermaplaning does not affect hair growth at all.
We recommend having Dermaplaning every 4-6 weeks.
Clients may have a treatment every 4-6 weeks
Vigorous exercise, steam and sauna should be avoided for 24 hours.
Avoid direct exposure to the sun,including sunbeds for the first week.
SPF factor 30+ must be applied daily to the treated area for a minimum of four weeks, we would always recommend continued application of SPF 30+ as part of your daily skincare regime.
Wice daily cleanse with a post treatment cleanser followed by a serum or treatment cream with SPF 30+
